Andrew Watson
Andrew began tennis at the age of 10 in Charlottesville, Virginia. He grew up surrounded by UVA tennis and became one of the top players in the Mid Atlantic in the 12 and unders. At the age of 12, Andrew quit tennis to focus on other sports such as baseball and wrestling. His junior year in high school, Andrew picked up tennis again and met Mitchell Frank shortly after. Andrew went from being a non-rated player to being recruited to play tennis at the University of Mary Washington (Top 20 in the nation for Division 3). During his time at Mary Washington, Andrew became a Division 3 All American and NCAA semifinalist as well as posting wins over George Mason, James Madison, and many of the top teams in division 3.
Andrew has been coaching tennis for the last 5 years. He started his coaching career by working with underprivileged kids in the Charlottesville area. Andrew has served as a mentor to many kids at the Mitchell Frank Tennis Academy over the last couple of years and began to work at the academy this past summer. During the summer, Andrew has worked with kids in the recreational programs and kids in the elite program. With his work ethic, passion, care factor, and attention to detail, Andrew has become one of the top young coaches in the nation.
